The In The Middle Reading Challenge

The major change for this year is that books up to 450 pages will count. I realized last year that books that were from 400 pages to 450 pages did not fit into any challenge. I hope this will help people read the books they want to and not just books that complete their reading challenge goals.

Challenge Guidelines:

  • This challenge will run from January 1st, 2014 to December 31st, 2014
  • All books read in 2014 count that includes bound, ebook, and audiobooks
  • All books must be from 300 to 450 pages in length
  • For audiobooks: look up the page number on Amazon and use that number
  • You do not need to be a blogger to participate although I would appreciate if you leave a comment to tell me what level you are aiming for and a link where I can track your progress. This could be a shelf on goodreads or shelfari or any other website you can think of. I would appreciate non bloggers putting their link in the linky if they can.
  • For bloggers, grab the button and make sure to post what level you are aiming for. Then be sure to link your post in the linky below
  • You don't have to review books however if you do. I would be glad to read them. You can also link your reviews in the linky below
  • Have Fun (as the quote in the button says "the pages we read transport us into a whole new world". Reading is about the experience and if you do not enjoy reading you will not get the full experience of the story) I want this challenge to create little stress in your mind.

Levels:
Leafing through the Pages: 5 books
Cruising through the Pages: 10 books
Fly Through the Pages: 15 books

Never Stop Reading: 20 books

I think this challenge is going to be ”easy” and now I finally have an excuse for reading “short” books

The level I’m aiming for is:
Never Stop Reading: 20 Books

And the books I’m going to read are:

  1. The Chaos (Numbers #2) by Rachel Ward -339 pages
  2. Silenced (Fredrika Bergman and Alex Recht #2) by Kristina Ohlsson -390 pages
  3. Shopaholic & Sister (Shopaholic #4) by Sophie Kinsella -400 pages
  4. Mansfield Park by Jane Austen – 388 pages
  5. Reckless (Reckless #1) by Cornelia Funke -351 pages
  6. Kære Fucking Dagbog (Dear Fucking Diary) by Henrik List (Danish) -384 pages (Re-Read)
  7. Dark Life (Dark Life #1) by Kat Falls -315 pages
  8. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell -433 pages
  9. Attachments by Rainbow Rowell – 336 pages
  10. The Ice Princess (Fjällbacka/Patrick Hedström #1 ) by Camilla Läckberg – 362 pages
  11. The Secret Of Mary Bowser by Lois Leveen – 450 pages
  12. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green -313 pages (Re-Read)
  13. Zombies VS. Unicorns by Holly Black, Justine Larbalestier & a bunch of other authors – 415 pages
  14. Thirteen Reason Why by Jay Asher -300 pages (Re-Read)
  15. Pretties (Uglies #2) by Scott Westerfield -370 pages
  16. Who Done It? By A lot of authors -352 pages
  17. Geektastic: Stories from the Nerd Herd by Holly Black, Cecil Castellucci + 19 other authors -400 pages
  18. The Hundred Year Old Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson -372 pages
  19. Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane -310 pages
  20. Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen -294 pages
  21. The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games #1) by Stephenie Meyer – 454 pages
  22. Cell by Stephen King -453 pages
(I know that the last 3 is not between 300-450 but I thought that they should be in it anyway because it’s only 3-6 sides’ difference so…)

Here is the review link for January. I would love to have you link up any reviews you have written for the challenge.

Thanks for joining. I think you have great goals moving forward. I will let your last few books on the list count for the challenge, but technically 450 or over counts as chunkster novel which is a different challenge completely so that is why I cut off at 450.
